Every time we move to a new place, we tell ourselves that this time we are actually going to make an effort to get to know our neighbors. We are going to settle in, bake some cookies, and go door-to-door around the neighborhood to properly introduce ourselves to everyone around.

So far, we haven't actually executed this plan…

It might be because we are too awkward, it might be because we are too lazy or busy to make the effort, but we always end up simply hoping the introductions will happen on their own. Instead of knocking on people's doors, we hope to simply see enough neighbors as we leave our house in the morning, and that would be enough to become friendly with the people we share a street with. Let things play out naturally, and life moves on…
